What They Didn’t Tell You: From Core to Floor
What They Didn't Tell You, the Pilot
Welcome to the very first episode of What They Didn’t Tell You: From Core to Floor! I’m your host, Dr. Millie Schweky, a pelvic floor physical therapist who’s done watching women be dismissed, misinformed, or left to Google their symptoms in secret.
In this short and juicy pilot episode, I’m giving you the scoop on what podcast is all about and why I created it.
Because let’s be real: leaking when you laugh isn’t just normal, sex isn’t supposed to hurt, and you definitely shouldn’t be left in the dark when it comes to your hormones, healing, or pelvic floor.
This podcast is your safe, smart, and slightly spicy space to hear the real talk no one else is giving you—rooted in science and intuition.
Hey sis, and welcome to the very first episode of What They Didn't Tell You From Core to Floor. I'm your girl, Dr. Millie Schweky, your favorite public floor physical therapist, and this is your new favorite podcast.
Let's start with the name, What They Didn't Tell You From Core to Floor. So my first few years diving into this world of women's health, I was blown away by how little the average woman knows about her own body, and I'm not just talking about women from specific cultural backgrounds, I'm talking the general population as well.
Women have told me things like, oh, just a little leaking is normal, right? I have three kids, or isn't sex supposed to hurt? That's what my friends say. Or don't they just cut you during birth? Like isn't that a routine thing? Like my mom had it with me. Or oh, you have pain or discomfort or irregular periods? Just take hormonal birth control. Or you're having a hard time? Just relax. It's all stress. It's all in your head.
This show is where we do better. This show is where we go way deeper into all these areas, and I created this show because I've worked with hundreds of women at this point who have felt dismissed, confused, scared, defeated, or even ashamed about what's going on in their bodies, and to be honest, I've been that woman too at some points. I'm just so happy to be your source of better information, better support, better outcomes, and this is your space for real talk about healing from the inside out with a healthy mix of science and intuition side by side.
So if you're thirsty for knowledge about your hormones, about healing after birth, about a sex that doesn't hurt, energy that doesn't crash, and a pelvic floor that actually functions, welcome to the tribe, and I hope you stay a while. This is the show you're gonna want to play as soon as a new episode releases, and season one is starting off with a bang. Let me explain how it's gonna go. So this show is gonna be released season by season, and each season has its own topic and co-host.
So for example, season one is What They Didn't Tell You About Sex, where I'll be answering your Q&A from the clinic and past question box submissions, along with an incredibly well-spoken sex therapist. And we're trying to keep each episode during the season between 10 and 20 minutes, because who has time for longer episodes? And between each season, we'll be releasing one or two longer episodes that are 45 to 60 minutes for my girls who like that traditional podcast format, where it's gonna be a little bit more laid back.
We're not necessarily answering Q&A, it's just more of a back and forth conversation between me and some other woman's health professional, or woman sharing her birth story, etc. Really, I want this to help you feel like you have an older sister in your pocket. Like you know what I'm saying? Google and ChatGPT all the questions you're embarrassed to ask a real human, and I want you to leave each episode with something real, whether it's a tool, an aha moment, or just like the relief of knowing you're not alone in whatever it is that you're going through.
So if that sounds good to you, hit subscribe, share it with a friend, put it in the group chat, and DM me your questions, because we'll be answering them right here on the show. And if you're ready for more, episode one drops in one week from the day of this pilot episode, and I'm so glad you're here.
Let's do this, can't wait.
